About Us

Established in 1962, Forest Hills Memory Gardens has been dedicated to serving the families of Southwest Virginia and Upper East Tennessee with compassion and integrity. Originally started by Jack & Edith Harmon of Bristol, David and Barbara Farris acquired the cemetery in March 1983 and under their vision, the cemetery has become the leader in growth, innovation, and selection of memorial alternatives for the area.

Currently the cemetery has developed approximately 40 acres out of the 75-acre tract which leaves it plenty of space to expand into the next century. As of today, the property consists of three mausoleums, columbaria’s, a cremation garden and walkway, private mausoleum, and in-ground burial options to accommodate both bronze and granite memorials.

In 2016, Forest Hills led the way in Virginia to get legislation passed to allow for both human and pet burials and opened the state’s first section, the Garden of Loyalty.

Forest Hills Memory Gardens is also the location of the Farris Cremation and Funeral Center which has an event center for families served by Farris.
